The Canadian Mechanical and Plumbing Expo (CMPX) hits new attendance record

Canada’s Largest HVACR + Plumbing Show Attracts Close to 14,000 Industry Professionals

Toronto, ON (March 27, 2024) - CMPX 2024 attracted record-breaking crowds to the South Building of The Metro Toronto Convention Centre, from March 20-22, 2024. Delivering three action-packed days of innovation, exploration, connection and learning, the event welcomed 13,400 participants, representing a 54% increase over 2022. Additionally, close to 22,000 industry professionals registered for the expo - marking another significant milestone and further solidifying CMPX’s position as Canada’s essential event for the HVACR and plumbing sectors.

The event kicked-off with a ribbon cutting ceremony and opening remarks from Ontario Premier Doug Ford. Large crowds gathered at the entrance, in anticipation of the show’s opening and Premier Ford’s address.

Inside the exhibit hall, attendees discovered an expanded show floor, featuring over 500 exhibitors from across Canada, the US and abroad. From the most recognized names in HVACR and plumbing to the newest emerging brands, there was plenty to see and do at CMPX 2024. The show also attracted a more diverse audience than ever before, including contractors, engineers, wholesalers, students and more, all eager to get hands-on with the latest equipment, tools and tech.

CMPX 2024 also featured the most complete education line-up in show history, with over 60 sessions delivered by thought-leaders, product experts and industry trailblazers. The content mix was comprehensive, offering participants access to valuable insights and perspectives.

At the Social Hub, the industry’s most popular influencers came out in full force, hosting new product demos and in-person meet-ups, as well as sticker exchanges and live podcasts. Without a doubt, this was the best place on the show floor to share tips, swap stories, and make new connections.

Rounding out the feature mix at CMPX 2024 was the popular HVACR Skills Competition, featuring the next generation of contractors - competing live from the show floor - for the coveted title of champion.

"The entire mechanical and plumbing industry truly came together for three action-packed days of hands-on exhibits, valuable networking and real-world solutions," said Joanna Woo, CMPX Committee Chair. "From start to finish, the energy, buzz and excitement was off the charts, and the show committee can't wait to build on this incredible momentum for 2026 and beyond".

The next edition of the show is scheduled from March 25 - 27, 2026 in the South Building of The Metro Toronto Convention.
